Onsen Sento Yumoto Sagiriyu

Enjoy hot spring waters direct from the source at an “onsen sento” in Hokkaido’s famous Noboribetsu Onsen

Hokkaido’s famous hot spring area, Noboribetsu Onsen, is known for the various types of spring waters that gush from the nearby Jigokudani (Hell Valley). The onsen town is lined with large-scale hotels, Japanese inns with great food, and souvenir shops. Even within an onsen town where you can enjoy a day-trip visit or overnight stay at various baths, the “onsen sento,” stands out as being especially convenient for trying different types of baths in one location. Yumoto Sagiriyu, which faces the onsen town, is a public hot spring bath facility that allows visitors to enjoy two types of spring water—sulfur and alum springs—for the adult admission price of only ¥450. The natural hot springs are directed straight from their sources into the bathtubs without being diluted or heated. Since the facility is open from 7 a.m. in the morning until 9 p.m. at night, we recommend spending the night in the onsen town when you visit to fully relax in the baths. There are free and paid relaxation rooms where you can take it easy after a soak.
