Jozankei Gensen Park

Opened on the 200th anniversary of Jozankei Hot Springs founder’s birth
An “Onsen Tamago(eggs boiled in hot spring water) Hot Springs” also in the park

As you make your way down from “Kappa (mythical water dwelling creatures) Family Wishing Hot Springs for Hands” situated along National Highway 230 to the center of Jozankei Hot Springs District, you can stop by the Jozankei Gensen Park at the foot of the Tsukimi Bridge. This park was built to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Miizumi Jozan, an ascetic monk who built the foundation for Jozankei Hot Springs. There is a statue of the founder and a variety of hot springs to soak your feet and hands, as well as a hot springs which allows you to boil eggs(“Onsen Tamago Hot Springs”). There are over 80 sources at this hot springs that you can use to make hot springs boiled eggs. This is a treat only available at a hot springs district. The park is opened from 7:00~21:00, and admission if free. There are foot and hand hot springs in the town, so enjoy going around to the various hot springs while taking a walk.

  • From Sapporo Station on the JR Line and Subway Namboku and Toho Lines, take the Jotetsu Bus (7) and get off at "Jozankei yunomachi" bus stop
  • From Makomanai Station on the Subway Namboku Line, take the Jotetsu Bus (12) and get off at "Jozankei yunomachi" bus stop
