Seicomart

Find great takeout food or hunt for souvenirs at Hokkaido’s very own convenience store chain.

Seicomart is a convenience store chain that was founded in Hokkaido in 1971—look for the orange colored sign with a phoenix on it. An enjoyable part of any trip is paying a visit to local stores. Seicomart carries milk from Toyotomi Town, ice cream made from Hokkaido milk and melons, as well as daifuku (soft rice cake with sweet bean filling) and milk candies, offering a huge assortment of original products made with local ingredients. Try Guarana, a popular drink among the children of Hokkaido that tastes like cola. The rare treat of sake-toba (salmon jerky), made from freshly caught salmon from the waters off Hokkaido, is must-get souvenir. Enjoy takeout during your trip that includes freshly prepared fried chicken, onigiri (rice ball) and katsudon (pork cutlet rice bowl) from the convenience store’s Hot Chef corner.
