Sapporo Jozankei Natural Village

A campsite, located approximately 40minutes away from downtown Sapporo by car, which features numerous entertaining items for summer and winter seasons.

Located near the Houheikyou Dam inside the deep forest of Jozankei, the Natural Village is a “lifelong learning facility based on the experiencing of nature.” It features tent sites, cottages, and tent houses for lodging, and rents out tents, sleeping bags, and campfire kits. There are various activities to take part in, from guided programs on “outdoor cooking” and “wood chopping” as well as various winter activities you can do on your own and the “kanjiki walk” (¥100), which is similar to snowshoeing. The friendly staff will show you how to have in a natural environment. It’s a great place for novice campers. Reservations can be made two months in advance. The facility is popular among repeat users, so it’s best to make reservations as early as possible.
