If you enter your e-mail address and register for the “Sapporo City Wi-Fi” operated by Sapporo City, you will be able to use the Wi-Fi for up to 30 minutes each time you connect at hotspot locations. You can connect an unlimited number of times. Support is available in Japanese, English, Korean, simplified and traditional Chinese and Thai. The “Japan Connected-free Wi-Fi” smartphone app is a free app that allows you to search for free Wi-Fi hotspots and connect to free Wi-Fi with a single tap. It allows you to bypass the registration procedures necessary to use Wi-Fi at each hotspot. It can be used to connect to many free Wi-Fi hotspots around Japan such as those in airports, train stations and commercial facilities. The app is available in 11 languages.

This Wi-Fi service can be accessed by visitors with a Wi-Fi enabled device such as a smartphone. The service area spans 2,400 locations across Sapporo where you can access Wi-Fi free of charge. Inside the Hokkaido-Sapporo Tourist Information Center within Sapporo Station, you will find a vending machine that sells prepaid SIM cards that are great for travelers.
