Enjoy Art and Sightseeing at the Festival’s Many Venues Beloved by Sapporoites

Sunday, August 6, 2017 to Sunday, October 1, 2017

The Sapporo International Art Festival (SIAF) is an art festival that is held in Sapporo once every three years. With musician Yoshihide Otomo as Guest Director, SIAF 2017 has a number of events in store, including exhibitions, all based on the theme “What is an art festival anyway?” Venues include Sapporo Art Park and Moerenuma Park, where you can enjoy nature and art, Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade, featuring nearly 200 shops and bustling with Sapporoites and visitors alike, Susukino, one of Japan’s three largest entertainment districts, as well as the Maruyama Area, home to trendy cafes and restaurants. The city streetcar, which allows you to easily access spots along its route, will also serve as a stage for art projects. We invite you to enjoy art and Sapporo sightseeing while walking the city with a map in one hand.
