Kamokamo River Nostalgia is an event that showcases Japanese culture under the concept of enjoying a day in the temple town of Susukino. The event is held at Higashi Honganji Temple, the oldest Buddhist temple in Sapporo, and Shinzenkouji Temple, which houses wooden statues from the Heian period and the only Buddhist statue made of human ashes in Sapporo. Enjoy a variety of attractions such as hands-on classes about the tea ceremony, Japanese papermaking, and letter carving (for personal seals), as well as performances of Ainu music and Japanese musical instruments.
