Sapporo Moiwayama Ski Area

This ski area is located on the slopes of Mt. Moiwa. Since its opening in 1960, it has been loved by the citizens of Sapporo for its easy access (20 minutes by car) from the city of Sapporo. Visitors staying in Sapporo can also enjoy skiing before going to the airport on their way home. It is an unique ski area for Hokkaido in that it forbids snowboarding. There are 10 types of courses that can satisfy beginners as well as experienced skiers. We recommend the beginners course “the Sightseeing Road Course (2.6km)”, which is similar to snow trekking, while taking in the view of the city of Sapporo lying beneath.
